DUSHANBE, June 11, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Tajik Ambassador to Pakistan Zubaydullo Zubaydov met with Saleem Mandiwala, Chairman of the Board of Investment of Pakistan, in Islamabad on June 10, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

Construction of a cement plant in Tajikistan due to Pakistani loans was a major topic of the meeting.

The Pakistani side reportedly noted that in accordance with instructions from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani they were ready to provide a loan to Tajikistan for construction of a modern cement plant.

“A group of Pakistani specialists will be sent to Tajikistan to choose place for construction of the cement plant and determine its capacity,” the source said.  

Board of Investment (BOI) is the investment promotion agency of Pakistan.  The Board of Investment assists companies planning to invest in Pakistan or to expand their Pakistani operations.  The Board of Investment is a member of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA).
