DUSHANBE, July 29, 2011, Asia-Plus – The first edition of a German-Tajik Dictionary has been presented in Berlin.

The dictionary was presented by one of its authors, PD Dr. Phil. Lutz Rzehak

Faculty of Arts III, Department of Asian and African Studies Central Asian Languages and Cultures, Humboldt University.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the dictionary-presentation ceremony was attended by representatives from German Federal Chancellor’s Office, German MFA, diplomatic missions, members of German-Tajik Friendship Society, German media and representatives from Tajik, Afghan Iranian Diasporas in Germany.

Dr. Lutz Rzehak headed the project for compilation of the German-Tajik Dictionary containing about 20,000 items.  Specialists from Humboldt University (HU-Berlin) and Tajik State Teachers’ Training University, namely; Barno Aripowa from HU-Berlin and Nafassho Shozedov, Ahmadsho Sanginov and Khairullo Sayfuloyev from Tajik State Teachers’ Training University participated in the project.
