DUSHANBE, August 27, 2011, Asia-Plus  — The second meeting of the Coordination Council for Public Finance Management, presided over by Finance Minister Safarali Najmiddinov, took place in Dushanbe on August 26.

The meeting participants included heads of public institutions and senior representative of international organizations active in the country.    

According to the Finance Ministry Secretariat, the meeting discussed the process of implementation of the public finance management strategy designed for 2009-2011 and considered and endorsed a new three-year plan of actions for 2012-2014.

The Council also approved the strategy of improvement of the accounting system designed for 2011-2018, the investment plan for the tax administration development program for 2012-2014, the training management strategy of the Finance Ministry and the plan of development of the Main Directorate of the Central Board of Treasury within the Ministry of Finance designed for 2011-2016, the source said.

Established in September 2008, the Coordination Council for Public Finance Management is a consultative body responsible for developing the public finance management strategy, the plan of actions and carrying out public financial management reforms.  Finance Minister Safarali Najmiddinov is chairman of the Coordination Council for Public Finance Management.
