DUSHANBE, September 14, 2011, Asia-Plus — The Board of Tajik Diaspora in Ukraine has been established in Kiev, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

The founding meeting that took place in Kiev at the end of last week brought together heads and representatives of Tajik communities from 13 regions of Ukraine.

Opening the meeting, Tajik Ambassador to Ukraine Shuhrat Sultonov noted that community heads must pay attention to living and working conditions of fellow-countrymen living outside Tajikistan.

Heads and members of Tajik communities from the cities of Kiev and Sevastopol as well the regions of Nikolayev, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkov seconded the idea of the establishment of the Tajik Diaspora Board in Ukraine.

Eleven members of the Tajik Diaspora Board were elected.  Nourmuhammad Sobirov heading the Tajik community in Kiev was elected chairman of the Board and Nourllo Saydaiyev, head of the Tajik community in the Kharkov region, Jouraqul Nabiyev, member of the Tajik community in the Sevastopol region, and Mukhtor Hasanov, member of the Tajik Diaspora in Kiev, were elected deputy chairmen of the Board.
