DUSHANBE, October 3, 2011, Asia-Plus — Kazakh drug control chief Anatoly Vybornov, heading a delegation comprising representatives from Kazakhstan’s ministries of interior and foreign affairs, is arriving in Dushanbe today to discuss issues related to establishment of cooperation between the two countries in combating drug-related crime.

According to the Drug Control Agency (DCA) under the President of Tajikistan, Tajik counternarcotics agency and Kazakh interior ministry will sign a protocol on cooperation here tomorrow, October 4.

Representatives of Kazak interior ministry and Tajik counternarcotics agency will also discuss issues related to carrying out joint anti-drug operations.

A government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan on cooperation in combating trafficking in narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors was signed here in June 2000 during Kazakh president’s state visit to Tajikistan, the source added.
