DUSHANBE, October 7, 2011, Asia-Plus — A delegation of Tajikistan’s upper house (Majlisi Milli) of parliament, led by Saydullo Khairulloyev, yesterday met in the Belarusian capital Minsk with representatives of the Council of the Republic (Belarusian upper house of parliament), the Majlisi Milli press center reports.

The sides reportedly discussed issues related to approximation of legal foundations laid by both countries for expansion of bilateral economic cooperation.

In the meantime, the Belarusian news agency, IA BELTA, cited Tajik Ambassador to Belarus Qozidavlat Qoimdodov, who also attended the meeting, as saying that Tajikistan’s agricultural park will appear in Belarus soon.  According to him many Tajik citizens are currently working in Belarus, growing vegetables and fruits and setting up small farms for manufacturing meat products.  “We have many good specialists in the field of agriculture, and therefore, we have decided to create our agricultural park here,” the ambassador was quoted as saying.
