DUSHANBE, October 10, 2011, Asia-Plus  — On Sunday October 9, Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi met with Mr. Kazayuki Hamada, a Parliamentary Secretary and Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan in Kuwait on the sidelines of the 10th Ministerial Meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD).

The Tajik MFA information department reports the two discussed a number of issues related to bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Japan.  Zarifi and Hamada reportedly hailed the current level of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Zarifi, in particular noted that Tajikistan was ready to cooperate with Japan on all issue being of mutual interest, including cooperation with the International Japan Cooperation Agency (JICA), the source said.

The sides also discussed prospects of further expansion of multi-aspect cooperation between their countries, including activities of the first and today the only Tajik-Japanese joint venture – the glycyrrhizic acid concentrate manufacturing plant in the Tajik southern Khatlon province.

The plant named Avvalin (The First) is manufacturing glycyrrhizic acid and all its product will be exported to other countries.
