DUSHANBE, October 21, 2011, Asia-Plus  — On Thursday October 20, Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi received Japan’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Hiroyuki Imahashi, the Tajik MFA information department reports.

The sides discussed a broad range of issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Japan.

Zarifi expressed hope that Mr. Hiroyuki Imahashi would make a major contribution to further development of relations between his country and Tajikistan.

Zarifi also met with Turkish Ambassador to Tajikistan Mehmet Munis Dirik yesterday.  In the course of the talks, the two exchange views on bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey, regional cooperation and the current situation in Afghanistan.

Tajik minister noted that the Tajik side was taking efforts to make contribution to the work of the upcoming Conference for Security and Cooperation in the Heart of Asia that will take place in Istanbul on November 2.
