DUSHANBE, December 16, 2011, Asia-Plus — Over the first eleven months of this year, Tajikistan has produced a total of more than 6.7 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 1.4 billion U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Compared to January-November 2010 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 105.5 percent.
Processing industry accounted for 67.3 percent of the overall volume of industrial goods produced over the same eleven-month period, enterprises producing and distributing electric power, natural gas and water accounted for 19.9 percent and mining industry accounted for 12.8 percent.
Of the 83 basic types of industrial products the output of 51 items (61.5 percent) increased, and the output of 29 items (34.9 percent) decreased. Three basic types of industrial products (3.6 percent) were not manufactured.
Enterprises subject to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) have produced some 2.6 billion somoni worth of goods in January-November this year, which is 18.3 percent more than in the same period last year.
Cotton-processing enterprises have produced 956 million somoni worth of output over the report period, which is 13 percent more than in January-November 2010.
Enterprises that are not subject to a MoEI have produced some 1.2 billion somoni worth of goods over the same eleven-month period, which is 11.7 percent more than in January-November 2010.
