KHUJAND, December 28, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Thirty-five new enterprises are expected to be introduced into operation in the northern province of Sughd in 2012, the Sughd department for energy and industries said.

Introduction of the new enterprises into operation will create more than 800 new jobs in the area, the source said.

New plants and workshops will be introduced into operation in Zafarobod, Konibodom, Khuhistoni Mastchoh, Spitamen, Jabborrasoulov, Bobojonghafurov, Khujand, Qairoqqum and Taboshar.

“The new enterprises will produce antimony, marble, building materials, doors and windows, wheat flour, cooking (cotton) oil, confectionery, condensed milk, and garment,” said the source, “Seven new enterprises will be introduced into operation in the Bobojonghafurov district alone.”

Besides, nine industrial enterprises will introduce new technologies, the source added.  They will manufacture basalt products, tiles, styrene bricks, packaging supplies, and sugar.

According to the Sughd department for energy and industries, Sughd province has produced a total of 218,074,268 somoni worth of industrial goods over the first eleven months of this year.  Compared to January-November 2010 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 124.6 percent.
