KULOB, December 29, 2011, Asia-Plus  — A new cotton-ginning factory has been introduced into operation in the Zafar jamoat in the Farkhor district, bringing the total number of the cotton-ginning factories operating in Khatlon’s Kulob region to twelve.

The plant is owned by Closed Joint Stock Company (CJSC) Adolat-A.  The plant director Sayvali Nematov says the enterprise is provided with modern Chinese equipment and it has an annual capacity of up to 20,000 tons of cotton.

“To build the enterprise and purchase the equipment we have taken a loan from Tojik Sodirot Bank (TSB),” Nematov said, noting that 150 people now work with the plant.

The company also plans to launch a sewing workshop in the Zafar jamoat that will allow creating additional new jobs for local residents.
