KULOB, January 23, 2012, Asia-Plus — The budget of the city and the district of Kulob for 2012 amounts to 43,166,717 somoni, Bakhtiyor Nazarov, the head of the Kulob finance department, said.

According to him, 27.639 million somoni of the expenditure part of the budget will be provided by the city and the district themselves and the remaining funds will come from other sources, including the republican budget.

The budget projects expenditure of nearly 14 million somoni in the health sector, which is 3,658,228 somoni more than in 2011, Nazarov said.  “Last year, the budget earmarked 10.2 million somoni for the health sector,” Nazarov noted.

“Expenditures rise 11 to 37 percent in all sectors, except the utility and the agrarian sector,” said the finance department head.  “Expenditures in the utility and the agrarian sector will be reduced because these sectors will be transferred to the self-supporting and commercial basis.”

The budget earmarks 1,935,840 somoni for the utility system, which is 1.276 million somoni fewer than in 2011.

Compared to 2010, expenditures on administrative settings in the agrarian sector will be reduced by 41 percent, Nazarov added.
