According to him, all those religious facilities have been built without appropriate documentation.

“To-date, three of 57 mosques and houses of worship functioning in the Khovaling district have already got the land use certificates,” said Saidov.  “In the Danghara, Temourmalik and Baljuvon districts, the process of collection of necessary documents is nearing completion.  70 percent of religious facilities functioning in these districts have already got the certificates of land use rights.”

As far as 72 mosques and houses of worship in the Kulob district are concerned, only three of them have got the land use certificates so far, the land management agency head added.

There are currently 564 mosques and houses of worship in ten districts of Khatlon’s Kulob region and 293 of them do not have certificates of the right to use land.
