DUSHANBE, February 1, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Several entities of the Free Economic Zone (FEZ) SUGHD are expected to manufacture their first products this year, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Umed Davlatzoda, told Asia-Plus Wednesday afternoon.

“The Tajik-Turkish join venture, Silkcoat Boya, will begin to produce output in early March this year,” Davaltzoda said.

Launched by Tajik limited liability company, Fortuna-Co, and Turkish company, Silkcoat Duvar Kaplamalari Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Sirketi, the enterprise produces paint-and-lacquer materials.

“The enterprise’s output will be sold not only in domestic market, it will also be exported to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan,” the deputy minister said, noting that five other entities of FEZ SUGHD are expected to be introduced into operation this year.

To-date, 18 entities with potential investment projects for a total amount of 52 million U.S. dollars have been registered in FEZ SUGHD, he added.
