DUSHANBE, February 16, 2012, Asia-Plus  — The next meeting of the Tajik-Pak joint commission for trade and economic cooperation will take place in Islamabad, Pakistan.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, an agreement on this subject was reached at a meeting of Tajik Ambassador to Pakistan Zubaydullo Zubaydov with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar in Islamabad on February 15.

Mr. Syed Naveed Qamar is cochairman of the Tajik-Pak joint commission for trade and economic cooperation.

The sides noted that the previous meeting of the Tajik-Pak economic commission that took place in Dushanbe on February 28, 2011 considered a number of important issues related to bilateral economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan.

They also stressed that the upcoming Fifth Regional Economic Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA V) that will be held in Dushanbe next month may become an important step towards bringing stability and peace to Afghanistan.
