DUSHANBE, March 12, 2012, Asia-Plus  — The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament considered the bill requiring amendments to the country’s law on holidays at a March 12 meeting, presided over by the Majlisi Namoyandagon speaker Shukurjon Zuhurov.

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says the Day of Geologist that had previously been marked every second Sunday of April will be marked on December 9.  According to him, this date was offered by President Emomali Rahmon during his meeting with geologists that took place in Dushanbe last December.

The board also considered bills requiring amendments to the country’s law on medical products and pharmaceutical activity as well as the administrative code.

Amendments proposed to the law on medical products and pharmaceutical activity by the government reportedly provide for public protection for information about medical products that is one of the requirements for accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

All these issues are expected to be considered at the next sitting of the third session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the fourth conviction that will take place in late March, Sultonov said.
