Members of the Tajik Central Election Commission Nurali Saidov and Jurahon Kurbonov are leaving for Erevan to monitor Parliamentary elections in Armenia.

Members of the Tajik election commission will monitor the elections as members of CIS observer mission which is headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Vladimir Garkun, Tajik election commission told AP.

Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for May 6. A total 131 are expected to be elected. The Armenian Parliament is formed through a mixed election system: 90 mandates by proportional system and 41 by majority voted system.

A total of 8 political parties – the Republican party of Armenia, Prosper Armenia, Orinac Yerkir, Heritage, the Communist party of Armenia, Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnakcutun, the Democratic party, United Armenians and the Armenian National Congress – will take part in the elections.
