In his letter to Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon of May 8 leader of the Islamic Renaissance party of Tajikistan and deputy of the Lower Chamber of the Parliament Muhiddin Kabiri urges to grant amnesty to participants of civil confrontation in the country.

In his letter Kabiri called peace and consent, which were achieved in Tajikistan 15 years ago, to be a historic achievement of the Tajik nation and a unique experience in the global peace practice and urged Tajikistan President to manifest humanity and mercy to participants of civil confrontation in Tajikistan on the eve of this holiday, IRPT Office told AP.

Kabiri urges to grant amnesty to both followers of the former opposition and National front who currently serve their sentences in jails.

“Many of participants of civil confrontation served long sentences in jail and have become very old and their health condition leaves much to be desired,” Kabiri said in his letter.

IRPT leader attached the list of former UTO members who currently serve their sentences in jails.
