In January-April this year Tajik industrial enterprises produced products worth over 2.5bln Somoni (approximately $535mln), Tajik Statistical Agency reports.

The volume of industrial production has increased by 14.7% as compared to the same period last year.

“The growth in industrial production is closely connected to the growth in production of energy and non-energy materials, production of foodstuffs, textile and clothing manufacture, production of leather and oil products,” the agency has said.

The Agency stressed that share of mining industry in the total volume of industrial production made 10.5%, that of processing industry – 65.1% and share of production and distribution of energy, gas and water made 24.4%.
