DUSHANBE July 6, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Founder and head of the private company Samar, Samariddin Fazliddinov, who was one of influential businessmen of Tajikistan and ex-member of the Tajik parliament, died in the Vose district, Khatlon province yesterday, aged 60 after a short illness.

For a long time, Samarididn Fazlididnov had worked as director of the cotton-ginning plant in Vose.  In the early 1990s he founded the private TV station “Mavji Ozod” (Free Wave).  He was also founder of the private airline Samar Air (2004).

According to findings from surveys conducted by various Tajik and CIS media outlets, Samarididn Fazliddinov had repeatedly been among the top 100 richest and influential persons of Tajikistan.
