DUSHANBE, September 1, 2012, Asia-Plus – On Saturday September 1, President Emomali Rahmon inaugurated a new international school in Dushanbe.

Based in Dushanbe’s Kalinin neighborhood, the school is designed to accommodate 600 students from the first to eleventh grades.

Abdusamad Mulloyev, the head of the department for preschool and school education within the Ministry of Education (MoE), says, “The school is provided by textbooks, curriculum and education standards of private schools of Cambridge and Oxford, Great Britain.”

According to him, 70 percent of subjects will be taught in English.

An annual tuition fee for studying at this school will be 3,500 U.S. dollars, but if parents want their children to stay in the school dormitory, the annual tuition will be up to 5,000 U.S. dollars.

Meanwhile, the Dushanbe-based International School that is financed by Turkey now houses some 400 pupils, including children of foreign diplomats and foreign citizens living in Dushanbe.  An annual tuition fee for studying at this educational institution is some 7,000 U.S. dollars.

This school was founded in 1997 to serve the international community in Dushanbe and the surrounding area.  Students are reportedly drawn from families working for both the international and local business communities, including the diplomatic corps and various multi-national government-funded organizations.

As far as the project for opening of the Tajik-Iranian International School in Dushanbe is concerned, the implementation of this project is reportedly going on.  The Iranian side, however, says the opening of the Tajik-Iranian International School is being delayed due to problems connected with collection of documents necessary for getting license from the Ministry of Education of Tajikistan.
