DUSHANBE, October 17, 2012, Asia-Plus  — The Islamic Revival Party (IRP) leader Muhiddin Kabiri met with Robert Blake, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, in Washington on October 15.

According to IRP’s head office in Dushanbe, the two discussed the current situation in Central Asia, political processes in the region and Afghanistan.

Kabiri and Blake also considered issues related to observance of political and religious freedoms in the countries of the region as well as the spread of extremism.

On the same day, Kabiri reportedly attended an enlarged meeting at the Department of State on Central Asia’s problems. 

Muhiddin Kabiri is also scheduled to travel to New York on October 19 for meetings with the Tajik Diaspora, the source said.
