DUSHANBE, October 18, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Tajik President Emomali Rahmon participated in a two-day summit of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) that concluded in Kuwait yesterday.

While in Kuwait, Emomali Rahmon met with the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on October 17.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Tajik president highly appraised the organization of the ACD summit and welcomed the proposal of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to create a fund to finance development projects in non-Arab countries having a total capital of $2 billion.

For his part, the Amir of the State of Kuwait reportedly noted that his country was interested in expanding bilateral cooperation with Tajikistan in sectors like energy, transportation, tourism, health, education, and science.

The sides also considered a number of international and regional issues being mutual interest.

Meanwhile, the Amiri Diwan of the State of Kuwait reported on October 17 that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and his accompanying delegation at Al-Tahrir Hall in Bayan Palace on Wednesday on the fringes of the First Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) summit.

The meeting reportedly tackled bilateral relations, discussed issues of common interest and shed light on the latest development on the regional and international arenas.  His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Homoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and senior state officials attended the meeting.
