DUSHANBE, November 1, 2012, Asia-Plus  — On Thursday November 1, President Emomali Rahmon attend a ceremony of an official reopening of the boarding school for deaf and partially hearing children in the Roudaki district after a major renovation, an official source at the Ministry of Education (MoE) said.

According to him, Deputy Prime Minister, Ms. Ruqiya Qurbonova, and Minister of Education, Nouriddin Saidov, also attended the ceremony.

The boarding school principal, Ms. Khotima Kasirova, notes the school has also been provided with 20 computers, electronic school board and a video projector.

“Besides, ten sewing machines and twelve shoe-repairing machines have been installed at three handicraft centers functioning at the school,” Kasirova said, noting that various sports kits have been installed in school’s gym.

Built in 1940, the boarding school for deaf and partially hearing children has not been repaired since 1979.  The renovation work has reportedly been financed by the Ministry of Education and the limited liability company Sitora-Trading.
