DUSHANBE, January 14, 2013, Asia-Plus  — During 2012 an overall space of some 875,000 square meters in residential buildings was made available, according to the Agency for Construction and Architecture under the Government of Tajikistan.

Besides, new schools to accommodate a total of 17,900 pupils, hospitals with a total of 195 beds and polyclinics with a total capacity of receiving 675 patients per shift were reportedly built in the country last year.

Construction works are now carried out in 65 cities and district centers in accordance with municipal redevelopment plans.

Works on preparation and improvement of municipal redevelopment plans for the cities of Isfara, Konibodom, Panjakent, Istiqlol (formerly Taboshar) as well as administrative centers of the districts of Darvoz, Muminobod, Temourmalik, Vakhsh and Jilikul are under way, the source said.
