Financial anti-corruption mechanisms discussed in Moscow

DUSHANBE, June 5, 2013, Asia-Plus – Director of Tajikistan’s Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption, Fattoh Saidov, delivered a statement at the 2nd Eurasian Anti-Corruption Forum entitled “Financial Anti-Corruption Mechanisms: International Standards and National Solutions” that took place in Moscow on June 4, Mohammad Egamzod, an official representative of the Tajik Embassy in Moscow told Asia-Plus today.

Organized by the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Jurisprudence under the Government of the Russian Federation under support of the State Duma (Russia’s lower chamber of parliament) and Russian Audit Chamber, the conference reportedly brought together international researchers and experts, representatives of international organizations, senior representatives from Russian local authorities and heads of anticorruption agencies from the CIS member nations to discuss the most topical problems of combating corruption in the Eurasian region and issues related to working out new approaches to the fight against corruption.

State Duma Chairman S. Naryshkin and Federation Council (Russia’s upper house of parliament) A. Toshin, who is also the head of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly observation mission, also attended the conference.

In the report released at the conference, Tajik anticorruption chief reportedly dwelled on the main approaches to improvement of legal and financial mechanisms combat corruption within the CIS area.

Tajik Ambassador to Russia, Abdulmajid Dostiyev, also attended the conference, Egamzod said.
