QURGHON TEPPA, July 10, 2013, Asia-Plus — Teachers from a number schools in the Shahritous district, Khatlon province have not received wage for more than five months.
In a report released at a news conference in Qurghon Teppa, the capital of Khatlon province, Ibrohim Azizov, Chairman of the Council of Trade Unions of Khatlon, revealed on July 10 that wage debts have increased in the Shahritous and Yovon districts.
Habibullo Rahmatov, Chairman of Trade Unions in the Sphere of Education, in particular, noted that teachers from a number schools in the Shahritous district have not received their wages for more than five months due to non-fulfillment of the tax collection target. He further noted that necessary funds had been allocated from the regional budget for payment of wages to teachers.
An official source at the Khatlon labor inspectorate has also confirmed the information about delays in payment of wages to teachers.
