DUSHANBE, July 18, 2013, Asia-Plus – Abdullo Yorov has been relieved of his post of head of Barqi Tojik for delay in payment of wages to Barqi Tojik workers, Navrouz Samadov, the head of the Labor and Employment Supervision Department, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on July 18.

According to him Barqi Tojik workers have not received wages for thee-four months.  “Therefore, Barqi Tojik top manager has been dismissed,” Samadov added.

We will recall that by government’s decree Asli Nazarov, formerly head of the Central Power Supply Network within Barqi Tojik, was appointed to head Barqi Tojik on July 11, replacing Abdullo Yorov.

Abdullo Yorov was reportedly relieved of his post of head of Barqi Tojik for health reasons.  

Barqi Tojik is the state-owned utility responsible for generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity in Tajikistan.

We will recall that the government is preparing to restructure Barqi Tojik.  The plan envisages splitting the power company into three entities: generation, transmission, and distribution
