DUSHANBE, July 22, 2013, Asia-Plus — A delegation from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs is arriving in Dushanbe today to conduct negotiations on a Double Taxation Agreement between the United Kingdom and Tajikistan, press release issued by the British Embassy in Dushanbe said.

The official negotiations will be opened during a meeting of Her Majesty’s Ambassador of the UK and Northern Ireland to Tajikistan, Robin Ord-Smith and the Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Ruhulo Hakimov.

Robin Ord-Smith said “I am delighted that the UK and Tajikistan are today commencing negotiations for a bilateral Double Taxation Agreement. This is an encouraging and important step that will clarify the tax burden for companies and will keep encouraging Trade and Investment flows between our two countries. I very much hope that it will be possible to reach agreement on the text swiftly. This is in the best interests of both the UK and Tajikistan.”
