DUSHANBE, September 12, 2013, Asia-Plus –  President Emamali Rahman received today the head of administration of the German Energy Agency, Stephan Kohler. Development of multifaceted cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany were discussed during the meeting, especially in energy sector.

President’s press office reports that Mr. Rahman expressed gratitude to the leadership and the people of Germany for their continued support in socio-economic development of Tajikistan, and said that cooperation of the two states in the areas of investment, economy, and trade will continue to develop.

Stephan Kohler, expressed confidence that the today’s business forum in Dushanbe with participation of Tajik and German business circles is a clear indication of his country’s interest in developing relations with Tajikistan.

Mr. Kohler also said that German energy companies are interested in participating in the construction of medium and large hydro-power plants in Tajikistan, and that Germany can deliver energy-efficient equipment to Tajikistan. Such equipment can lower energy losses for the Tajik aluminum giant, TALCO.
