DUSHANBE, November 15, 2013, Asia-Plus – A meeting of Tajik and Iranian entrepreneurs took place here yesterday on sidelines of an international five-day exhibition that will conclude on November 16, according to Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) press center.

Senior representatives of Iranian companies dealing with cargo shipment and production of building paints, ceramic tiles, white cement, plastic wares, packages, soft drinks, vegetable oil, and baby goods participated in the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Tajik CCI deputy chairman, Asanali Karamaliyev, noted that one of the main tasks of Tajik CCI was in promoting launch of joint ventures that would use domestic raw materials, new technologies for production of competitive products.

Mohammad Omrani, head of international exhibition company, Rah-e Roshd-e Asiaya, introduced Iranian companies participating in the meeting.  They are Iranian Asak Cement Group, Poulad Poyesh Co, Sina, Asa Tarabar Sharq,  Golghatre Toos, Gajibori-ye Pelastiki-ye Modern, Yashm Paint Resin, Noulan Agri Development, etc.  Representatives of these companies briefed on their activities.

Tajik participants in the meeting were represented by the following companies: Sodirot; Payki Mehr; Free Economic Zone (FEZ) Panj; Shirin; Rohi Abdreshim; Mehrdod International; Bar Coding Association; and Global Tajiktrans, etc.

Representatives of Bank of Latvia’s office in Tajikistan also attended the meeting, the CCI press center said.

Iranian entrepreneurs reportedly expressed interest in establishing enterprises in territories of Tajik FEZs.

We will recall that international industrial exhibition, dubbed Tajikistan-2013, kicked off at the Borbad State Complex in Dushanbe on November 12.   

30 Iranian companies are reportedly participating in the exhibition, which is organized by Tajikistan’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Mines (ICCIM).

They have put on display their achievements in sectors like farm produce processing, engineering and construction technologies, production of medicines, air purifiers and water purification systems, compact generators, and jewelry at the fair.

Over the first nine months of this year, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Iran has reportedly amounted to 229 million U.S. dollars, which is 33 percent more than in the same period last year.
