DUSHANBE, December 13, 2013, Asia-Plus — According to the preliminary data, Tajikistan has produced 1,355,371 tons of cereals this year, which is 18 percent than it was originally planned and 187,400 tons more than last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA).

A totaled reportedly includes 962,313 tons of wheat, which is 156,431 tons more than last year.   The wheat-harvesting target was overfulfilled by 19.4 percent, a source at a MoA said.

This year, gain crops were planted on 297,691 hectares and yield per hectare was, on average, 2.94 tons, which is 0.4 more than last year, the source added.
