DUSHANBE, December 21, 2013, Asia-Plus – Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimov paid a working visit to the northern province of Sughd on December 20.

According to the Interior Ministry’s official website, the main purpose of the visit was for the minister to get acquainted with activities of the Interior Ministry’s units operating in the province.

During a meeting with senior representatives of the Interior Ministry’s office in Sughd, Rahimov reportedly noted that the main task of police officers was in ensuring public order as well as detecting and preventing crimes.  He pointed to the necessity of close cooperation with the population.

Rahimov also ordered the Interior Ministry’s office in Sughd to take adequate measures to ensure traffic safety during winter period and preparedness for removing effects of natural disasters.
