DUSHANBE, April 2, 2014, Asia-Plus — Under the mayor’s resolution, companies constructing apartment buildings on outskirts of Dushanbe are exempted from transferring a certain number of apartments to the mayor’s office, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office said.

According to him, Mayor Dushanbe Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev has issued the resolution exempting 14 companies constructing apartment buildings in Circle 2 from transferring 5 percent of apartments to the Dushanbe mayor’s office.

“Besides, two companies constructing apartment buildings in Circle 1 (the center of Dushanbe) will now transfer 5 percent of apartments to the mayor’s office instead of the previous 10 percent,” Shavkat Saidov noted.

According to him, the resolution has been issued with the aim of speeding up the paces of housing construction and putting dwelling prices down in the city.

It should be noted that percentage has been lowered compared to 2006.  Under the mayor’s resolution issued in October 2006, companies building residential buildings in Circle 1 had to transfer 15 percent of the total number of apartments to the mayor’s office; companies constructing residential buildings in Circle 2 had to transfer 13 percent and companies constructing residential buildings in Circle 3 had to transfer 10 percent.
