A military parade dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the founding of Tajik Border Troops is expected to take place in Dushanbe in late May.

According to Faridoun Mahmadaliyev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense (MoD), more than 10,000 servicemen will be on the military parade in Dushanbe.

Soldiers and officers from the Main Border Guard Directorate, the Interior Ministry, the Ministry of Defense, the Committee on Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (CES) and the National Guard will participate in the parade that will be held in Dousti Square.

Commander of Tajik Border Troops, Lieutenant-General Rajabali Rahmonali, and Commander of the Dushanbe Garrison, Major-General Bakhtiyor Ruzminshoyev, will command the parade.

The Main Border Guard Directorate of Tajikistan is an agency of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) and the anniversary of the founding of Tajik Border Troops has been celebrated regularly since May 28, 1994.  This annual event is known as the Border Guards Day.
