DUSHANBE, June 5, 2014, Asia-Plus — Acting Foreign Minister and Foreign Minister-designate of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Zarar Ahmad Osmani arrived in Dushanbe on June 4 for a three-day official visit.

The Tajik MFA information department reports that while in Dushanbe, Zarar Ahmad Osmani is expected to hold talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Shari Rahimzoda and Minister of Transport Khairullo Asozoda.

They sides will discuss bilateral political and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Afghanistan.  Issues related to regional cooperation and providing security and stability in the region will also be among the major topics of the talks.

Zarar Ahmad Osmani (1964) is a politician in Afghanistan, currently serving as Acting Foreign Minister and Foreign Minister-designate. Osmani was appointed as the acting Foreign Minister on October 28, 2013.  He previously served as Minister of Counter Narcotics and as Governor of Parwan Province. Prior to this he served as Chief of Police of Parwan province and as Afghan Ambassador to Iran.
