Inflation rate in Tajikistan’s consumer section has amounted to 4.7 per cent, according to the Statistics Agency under the President.

Food prices increased by 6.5 per cent since the beginning of the year and non-food items’s prices increased by 0.8 per cent, and service prices increased by 5 per cent.

According to the Statistics Agency, in July of this year, inflation rate in the consumption sector was 0.2 per cent in comparison to June figures of 0.1 per cent.

It is noted that prices for non-food items and service charges to the population increased in July by 0.5 per cent and 2.5 per cent respectively, and food items’ prices decreased by 0.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, the government plans to hold the inflation at 7.5 per cent by the end of the year.
