DUSHANBE, November 30, Asia-Plus — The Islamic Revival Party (IRP) leader Muhiddin Kabiri met with Andrey Klimov, the member of the General Council of the Russian ruling party, United Russia, in Kazan, the capital of Russia’s Tatarstan Republic on November 28.

According to IRP’s head office in Dushanbe, the sides discussed issues related to labor migration problems, rise of radicalism in the region, combating drug trafficking and use of public potential for solving common problems.

The sides reportedly also discussed a number of international and regional issues being of mutual interest.

The meeting took place within the framework of the 2nd Kazan forum, Eurasian Economic Integration: Achievements and Problems.

Andrey Klimov is member of the State Duma (Russia’s lower house of parliament) and co-chairman of the EU-Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.  He is the first deputy chairman of State Duma Committee on International Affair, co-chairman of the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, chairman of the Subcommittee on the European Cooperation, deputy chairman of United Russia’s faction in the State Duma.

On the same day, IRP leader held visited Russian Islamic University in Kazan and held talks with Rafiq Hazrat Mukhametshin, Rector of Russian Islamic University.

Founded in Kazan in 1998, Russian Islamic University consists of three departments (Theology, Islamic Science and Hafiz Preparation) and four sub-departments (Humanitarian, Islamic Law, Islamic Theology and Philology).
