DUSHANBE, February 19, 2015, Asia-Plus – GIZ Program “Framework and Finance for Private Sector Development in Tajikistan” (FFPSD), funded by the Governments of Great Britain and Germany, calls for applicants to enroll onto the course “Strategic planning of financial institution.”

According to GIZ Office in Tajikistan, the course will take place on 12-14 March 2015 and will be delivered by the local expert, Ms. Shahnoz Ikromi.

Commissioned by the British and German governments, the Framework and Finance for Private Sector Development Program (FFPSD) in Tajikistan is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT) and the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) of Tajikistan and other national and international partners.  With the help of FPPSD, banks and microfinance institutions develop loan and savings products for farmers, crafts people and households as well as start-ups to meet their specific needs.

The program reportedly has four main areas of focus: strengthening agricultural and non-agricultural value chains by providing business and consultancy services; improving access to financial services; encouraging cross-border trade between Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan; and advising on economic policy and promoting dialogue between policy-makers, the private sector and civil society.
