DUSHANBE, February 20, 2015, Asia-Plus – Nasrullo Mahmoudov, formerly deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), has been appointed a chief prosecutor of Khatlon province, replacing Sirojiddin Nourzoda, who had served as chief prosecutor of Khatlon during four years.

Before being elected to the Majlisi Namoyandagon, Mahmoudov had served as chief prosecutor of the city of Kulob.

Sirojiddin Nourzoda was relieved of his post of chief prosecutor of Khatlon on February 18 upon the recommendation of President Emomali Rahmon.

We will recall that chief prosecutor of Sughd province Sharif Qurbonzoda, chief prosecutor of Khatlon province Sirojiddin Nourzoda, chief prosecutor of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) Mohammad Arbobzoda were relieved of their posts upon the recommendation of the president.

Speaking at a session of the Security Council, President Rahmon ordered on February 17 that all deputies to the prosecutor-general and chief prosecutors of the provinces must be replaced.
