DUSHANBE, May 12, 2015, Asia-Plus — The first meeting of the Working Group (WG) for development of women’s entrepreneurship took place in Dushanbe at the end of last week.

According to the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest), the WG members include representatives of the government bodies and the private sector, partners for development and female entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the meeting, the WG chairperson, Ms. Nigina Anvari, reportedly noted that the working group had been set up to promote development of women’s entrepreneurship in the country through expansion of public-private partnership.

“This initiative is aimed at increasing economic opportunities for women entrepreneurs by supporting them in starting, strengthening and expanding their enterprises,” Ms. Anvari said.

The WG activities are reportedly supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and other partners for development.
