DUSHANBE, June 8, 2015, Asia-Plus — The government has set up a working group (WG) to study the current socioeconomic situation in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
The working group, led by Deputy Prime Minister, Ms. Marhabo Jabbori, is currently in Gorno Badakhshan to study the socioeconomic situation in the area and problems facing the population, Rahmonqul Rahmonqulov, a spokesman for GBAO governor, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, the working group comprising representatives of all ministries and agencies of the country as well as intelligentsia will visit all districts of the region to hold meeting with the population, local authorities and clerics.
The spokesman stressed that the visit of the working group to Gorno Badakhshan was not connected with the upcoming visit of President Emomali Rahmon and His Highness the Aga Khan, Spiritual Leader (Imam) of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, to the region scheduled for late June.
