DUSHANBE, June 18, 2015, Asia-Plus — On Wednesday June 17, Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov met in Washing with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed issues related to economic and political cooperation between Tajikistan and the United States.  They also discussed problems of regional security and the human rights situation in Tajikistan.       

Besides, Aslov and Blinken discussed the results of the fifth U.S.-Tajikistan Annual Bilateral Consultations (ABCs) took place in Washington on June 16, the source said.

Antony John Blinken is the United States Deputy Secretary of State and the former Deputy National Security Advisor for President Barack Obama. He had served as a Senior Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Democratic Staff Director of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations(from 2002 to 2008), and a member of the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition team (from November 2008 to January 2009), among other positions.
