Dushanbe. 12 August. “Asia Plus” – On 11 August the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, Sharif Said, met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France in Tajikistan, Mr. Didier Leroy.
As informed by the press service of the CCI in the RT, during the meeting the sides exchanged the views on the state and perspectives of bilateral trade and economic relations. In this context a wide range of issues related to establishment and further development of contacts at the private sector level were discussed. In particular, satisfaction was expressed in regards to the French – Tajik business forum recently held in Dushanbe.
The Chairman of the CCT of Tajikistan highly appreciated the activities of French diplomat and his contribution to the development economic, trade, cultural and humanitarian links between France and Tajikistan.
The French Ambassador has also informed the Head of the CCT about the construction of the first hypermarket “Ashan” in Dushanbe by the French investors, commissioning of the new air terminal in Dushanbe (11 thousand square meters, 40 million Euros) with the capacity of providing services to 500 passengers an hour.
When discussing the perspectives for bilateral cooperation, Mr. Didier Leroy pointed out the need to use the sea trade service lines of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and India. According to the diplomat, this will facilitate strengthening and development of trade and economic cooperation on bilateral basis.
Sharif Said stressed out that France can also use Tajikistan as transit corridor for the cargo traffic of consumer commodities to Afghanistan and Pakistan, adding that Tajikistan is ready to join the efforts in finding ways for the development of international transport dialogue, establishment of partner relations based on mutual trust.
