Rakhmon headed Tajikistan during the civil war that threatened country”s disappearance from the political map of the world. “In that distant autumn of 1992, when in Khujand held the 16th session of the Supreme Council of Tajikistan, historical session for the country, I, as a deputy, have observed that many experienced politicians of the time did not want to take the leadership of the country, while Emomali Rakhmon agreed take the heavy burden of governing the country, then said, “I will bring peace and harmony to Tajikistan,” – said in an interview to “Asia-Plus” H.Nasriddinov.
