DUSHANBE, November 23, 2015, Asia-Plus — UNESCO Organization has reportedly inscribed the 100th anniversary of Tajik ballet dancer, choreographer, and director Gafar Valamat-zade and the 1250th anniversary of Hakim Tirmidhi into an official calendar of memorable dates and events, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
UNESCO has also approved a joint proposal by Tajikistan and Iran on commemoration of the 1150th anniversary of Muhammad ibn Zakariya Razi for 2016-2017.
Al-Ḥakim al-Tirmidhi was a Sunni jurist (faqih) and traditionist (muhaddith) of Khorasan, but is mostly remembered as one of the great early authors of Sufism. His full name is: Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ali bin Hasan bin Bashir (in some sources it is ”Bishr”) Al Hakim At-Termizi. He is locally known as At-Termizi.
Muhammad ibn Zakariya Razi (854 CE – 925 CE), was a Persian polymath, physician, alchemist and chemist, philosopher and important figure in the history of medicine.
Gafar Valamat-zade was Soviet Tajik ballet dancer, choreographer, and director.
