DUSHANBE, March 14, 2016, Asia-Plus — Ms. Elisabeth Millard, Ambassador of the United States to Tajikistan, presented her credentials to President Anomaly Ramón on March 11.

According to the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe, during the meeting following the credentials presentation ceremony, the two exchanged views on how to strengthen the already strong bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the United States.

Ms. Elisabeth Millard replaced Ms. Susan Elliott, who served as U.S. Ambassador to Tajikistan from 2012 to 2015.

Ambassador Elisabeth Millard is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. Prior to becoming Ambassador to Tajikistan, she served as Deputy Executive Secretary of the Department of State, a position she held since 2013.

Ms. Millard’s assignments include Kazakhstan, where she served as the U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission; Morocco, Nepal, India, Denmark, and the Czech Republic.  In Washington, she served as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for South and Central Asian Affairs at the National Security Council.
