DUSHANBE, March 17, 2016, Asia-Plus – Over the first two months of this year, Tajikistan has produced a total of 1.9608 billion somoni (equivalent to some 250 million U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

Compared to the same period of last year, the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 109.8 percent.

Processing industry reportedly amounted for 59.2 percent of the whole volume of industrial goods produced in the country in January-February this year. 

The volume of output produced by mining industry over the same two-month period has increased due to a 90 percent increase in the production of non-metallic minerals, a 60 percent increase in production of coals, a 70 percent increase in production of oil, and 20 percent increase in production of salt.  

Production and distribution of electrical power, natural gas and water over the report period has reportedly increased by 11.2 percent.
