DUSHANBE, April 18, 2016, Asia-Plus – On Friday April 15, New Tajikistan’s Permanent Representative to the European Union, Ambassador Erkinkhon Rahmatullozoda, presented his credentials to President of the European Council Donald Tusk.
According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and the European Union.
They reportedly noted that they would continue taking measures to strengthen relations between the two sides
Rahmatullozoda and Tusk, in particular, discussed issues related to providing regional security and addressing modern challenges and threats.
Ambassador Rahmatullozoda underlined significance of the EU-supported BOMCA and CADAP programs as well as the EU-Tajikistan multiannual indicative program designed for 2014-2020.
Tajik diplomat also appreciated the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)’s support for implementation of an important regional power transmission project, CASA 1000, the Tajik MFA information department said.
