DUSHANBE, April 20, 2016, Asia-Plus – First Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, Vladimir Garkun, will head the mission of the CIS observers to monitor Tajikistan’s constitutional referendum scheduled for May 22 this year.

According to the CIS Executive Committee press service, the CIS mission members will include representatives of the CIS member nations, the CIS Parliamentary Assembly and the Belarus-Russia Union Parliament Assembly.  

We will recall that Tajikistan is set to hold a referendum on constitutional amendments that would allow incumbent President Emomali Rahmon to run for office for an indefinite number of times.
